General DCYHC Questions
Q: How do I contact the Daly City Youth Health Center?
A: The phone number for DCYHC is (650)-877-5700 – Monday through Fridays from 8:30 AM to 5:15PM. You can also visit our website dcyouth.org and submit a question there.
Q: Are minors able to go to appointments by themselves?
A: During their first visits, minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. After the first visit, the parent or legal guardian can sign a form that allows their child who is 15+ years or older to attend appointments by themselves. However, there are exceptions for minor confidential services that do not require a parent or legal guardian.
Minors in California have access to services that can be confidential. For more information visit What is Medi- Cal Minor Consent? (teenhealthrights.org). Please let us know when scheduling your appointment if you would like these services to be under minor consent.
Q: Does DCYHC have same day or walk-in appointments?
A: No. Clinic services are provided by appointment only. There may be opportunities for same day or walk-in appointment if the patient is ok with seeing a nurse or covering provider. This is not always guaranteed. Feel free to give us a call (650)877-5700 to see what we have available.
Q: Do I need Insurance to come to the Daly City Youth Health Center?
If you are receiving general health services we accept Health Plan of San Mateo (HPSM) Medi-CAL. If you do not have this insurance, please reach out to us and we can support you in applying (650) 877-5700.
Sexual Health and Reproductive health services do not require insurance, there are many different insurance programs that we can help you to apply to that will cover the cost of these services.
Q: Does my parent/guardian have to accompany me to my appointment?
It depends, if you are under 18 you will need your parent or guardian to accompany you at your first general health appointment with us. However, all confidential and sexual health appointments do not need a parent or guardian present.
